Warrant for mum who says marijuana is a gift from God

A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of a Mapleton mother who believes marijuana is a gift from God and should not be illegal.
Pieta Michelle Morgan, 37, failed to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court yesterday to answer charges of possession and production of a dangerous drug.
Ms Morgan's case has had a number of adjournments dating back to August.
She told the court then that she would be pleading not guilty to the charges because the Bible states that "all seed-bearing plants" were given by God as food for mankind.
In two statements forwarded by Ms Morgan to The Daily yesterday, she defended her right not to appear in court.
"As the 'court', 'police' and 'government' are now all foreclosed entities, I am in no way required by means of any law, act, statute or legislation to be appearing," she wrote.
"With regard to the alleged charge of possessing and producing a dangerous 'drug'... The Bible clearly states in Genesis 1:29 that all plants are given as a gift from the Creator.
"The fact is that it is not only unreasonable to make illegal the most healthful and helpful herb on the planet, one that has been proven by scientists internationally to help ease the symptoms of, and cure, so many diseases... but goes directly against the wishes of the Creator by means of the very same book, the Holy Bible, that is used in courts around the world."
Judge Clifford Taylor said the warrant would be effective immediately so the matter could be brought to a close.
